The Royal College of Art (RCA) presents a series of online and on-campus (in London) events and exhibitions over January-February 2025. Prospective students, employers, academics, industry and anyone with a personal or professional interest in art, design and architecture are invited to join these events.

RCA x Design For Good Academy Masterclass—The importance of life-long learning for the design community
February 12
This free, online talk focuses on the importance of life-long learning from three notable Chief Design Officers. Ximena O’Reilly, Teman Evans and Mauro Porcini will share their personal education experiences and reflect on what they believe are the key skills required by the design community today and in the future.

PhD Research Biennale
February 21–27

The RCA Research Biennale 2025 showcases PhD Research at the college through a six-day exhibition and three-day symposium. This event is dedicated to showcasing our doctoral researchers’ research, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and supporting the next generation of scholars.

City Design in-conversation
Academics from the School of Architecture present an online series of talks to learn more about designing cities to thrive and the key approaches that shape City Design MA as a world-leading research-led design programme dedicated to justice and equity in urban space.

January 23: On Heritage as a Site of Urban Struggle with Dima Srouji.
February 6: On Right to the City and Social Reproduction with Riccardo Badano and Helen Brewer.
February 20: On Spatial Labour and Politics of Place with Dr Charlotte Grace.

Creative Research Methods in Art & Design Practice—Master of Research MRes

Gain a deeper understanding of what a Master of Research in art, design, architecture, communication or experimental humanities is, what is a research method, and other interesting topics. There will be talks on these subject and more, as well as the opportunity to discuss and ask questions with our faculty.
