Highlights from the 20th anniversary

From September 26 to 29, 2024, at Ágora Bogotá—Convention Center, the 20th anniversary of ARTBO / International Art Fair of Bogota was celebrated together with 118 exhibitors, including national and international art galleries, independent publishers, cultural institutions, and more than 350 artists. The fair featured the Galleries Principal Section, Sitio, featuring works that transcend traditional exhibition formats, Institutions, Conversaciones and Libro de Artista. And welcomed over 29,500 visitors.

Additionally, a team of leading independent curators were commissioned special sections: Proyectos, curated by Juan Canela; Referentes, curated by Pablo León de La Barra (Mexico) and Maria Wills (Colombia) in collaboration with Colombian artist, curator, and editor José Ruiz. This section offered a comprehensive review of Colombia’s gallery history, featuring more than 90 artworks by historically significant and contemporary national artists. Other highlights included Artecámara, the emerging national artists exhibit, curated by Ximena Gama, and Encuentros curated by Benedicta Badia, which featured 70 speakers from around the world.

ARTBO / Fair has already announced the dates for its 21st edition: September 25 to 28, 2025 with a special preview and vernissage on September 24, at Ágora Bogotá Convention Center.

And for the first half of 2025, ARTBO / Fin de Semana, the gallery weekend event is set to happen on April 25–27, 2025. This event will bring together over 70 cultural spaces—such as galleries, museums, institutions, independent exhibitions and design venues—for a weekend in Bogotá with extended hours to enjoy art-related events and discover the latest trends in art and design.
