Description
The Photography department invites applications for a full-time tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin at the start of the fall 2025 semester. The department is seeking an established artist whose work explores contemporary issues and whose career has maintained a record of national and international importance. Reporting to the department Chair, this faculty role will also hold the appointment of MFA Program Faculty Director for three years, with the possibility for renewal. The successful candidate will take an active leadership role in the MFA program and work in a learning environment with students that reflects a broad range of practices within a department that embraces interdisciplinarity and intersectionality. A passion for teaching, leadership, and curriculum development is essential.

Examples of duties
–Teach a range of photography courses, with special focus at the Masters level.​
–In collaboration with department leadership, formulate long-term vision and strategy for the MFA Photography program.​
–Identify curricular areas for development within a new and thriving graduate program.  ​
–Contribute to developing a strong culture of photographic research and practice both inside and outside the department. ​
–Foster and maintain external relationships with notable figures in the field for the professional development of the graduate student cohort and the program at large.​
–Advise graduate students in the studio providing guidance and support.
​–Lead and participate in graduate admissions.
​–Carry a load of 12 converted contact hours per semester, comprising teaching and service to the department and institute, with a reduced course load of 2/2 while holding the director position.​
–Actively participate in departmental and institutional service, including committee work and academic support services such as, curricular coordination and development, curricular assessment, and student advising.​
–Perform all other related activities as required

Education
MFA or degree equivalent as well as experience teaching at the college or university level.

Experience
–Demonstrated excellence in teaching, preferably with at least two years’ experience at the graduate level.
–Candidates must also have excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, demonstrated intercultural competence, and the ability to work well with diverse populations. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with management and leadership skills.
–Expertise in a broad range of methodologies, concepts, techniques and technology related to photographic practice.

Salary: 82,500–90,000 USD annually
