The National Asian Culture Center (ACC), led by President Lee Kanghyun, proudly presents the ACC CREATORS Residency 2024 Open Studio at the ACC Creation ACT Studio from November 22 to 27.
The ACC CREATORS Residency is an interdisciplinary platform merging art and technology. Now in its ninth year, eight teams will showcase the results of their four-month production under the theme “AI·Human·Multiverse.” Their work will be presented through a range of programs, including showcases, performances, roundtable discussions and workshops.
Focusing on the theme “AI·Human·Multiverse,” the Open Studio addresses complex social, ethical, and identity-related issues in the rapidly evolving digital age. Using technologies such as game engines, robotics, artificial intelligence, mixed reality, and data science, the creators explore new perspectives on these issues. Roundtable discussions will allow creators to share insights and experiences from their research and production processes with the public.
In addition, performances and workshops will offer an immersive experience of each project. Highlights include the opening performance by Line of Piers, which weaves electronic music with its project exploring the inner worlds of virtual characters; Ray LC’s Telling Fortunes with Generative AI Cards workshop, visualizing personal futures through digital technology; and Cyan D’Anjou’s Speculative Meal Immersion workshop, inviting participants to share tea and interact with citizens from a virtual world.
As part of the ACC CREATORS Residency’s international networking initiatives, the Partners Talk will feature esteemed institutions from around the world. Representatives from five overseas institutions—C-LAB (Taiwan), ZKM (Germany), IMPAKT (the Netherlands), MCASA (Mongolia), and SAT (Canada)—will discuss their goals, visions, and main projects, creating opportunities for exchange with a broader audience and related institutions.
The event will also feature live audiovisual performances by Mesocosm and France Jobin & Markus Heckmann, creation of SAT’s residency program.
