The School of Architecture at Syracuse University seeks candidates for a full-time, tenure-track position in Building Systems and Technology at the Assistant Professor level. This position will begin in the 2025–26 academic year, with a salary range of 85,000–95,000 USD.
Applicants should possess a professional or terminal degree in architecture or a related field, with relevant expertise in the areas of (including, but not limited to) material assemblies and fabrication, structural systems, building sciences, and/or environmental design, as well as the ability to support the instruction of design studio in matters of structure, construction, and assembly at all levels. Successful candidates should demonstrate a potential for recognized research, including built work, theoretical explorations, advocacy, creative work, and/or scholarship through publications, exhibitions, or grants. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to integrate their research interests, creative work, or professional practice into their teaching.
Teaching responsibilities include required core lectures and elective courses in building systems design and building technologies and may consist of design studio instruction and/or support. Responsibilities include working towards an internationally recognized research and/or professional profile, serving the school, University, and greater community, and fostering an equitable and inclusive student experience.
