Mousse Publishing is pleased to announce the release of Louis Fratino. Satura, the publication accompanying the first institutional solo exhibition of US artist Louis Fratino (b. 1993), taking place at Centro per l’arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci, Prato, Italy.
Edited by Stefano Collicelli Cagol, the volume offers a comprehensive exploration of Fratino’s practice, highlighting his profound connection with Italy and the works of such twentieth-century Italian artists as Filippo de Pisis, Mario Mafai, Costantino Nivola, Felice Casorati, Carlo Carrà, Fausto Pirandello, and Guglielmo Janni. The landscapes of Rome, Milan, and Genoa; the poetry of Sandro Penna, Patrizia Cavalli, and Pier Paolo Pasolini; and writings by Italian gay activist Mario Mieli are all also reflected in Fratino’s wide range of topics, imagery, and sensibilities.
This richly illustrated publication presents artworks from the last ten years alongside numerous new pieces, supported by the written contributions of Stefano Collicelli Cagol, Giorgio Di Domenico, Filippo Bosco, Chiara Portesine, and Michele Bertolino.
Louis Fratino. Satura also includes a special poster featuring the painting You and your things (2022).
