MIA Photo Fair is excited to announce the call for applications for its 14th anniversary edition in March 2025! The fair will take place in Milan from March 20 to 23, 2025. We are delighted to welcome visitors and exhibitors to our new location at SUPERSTUDIO PIÙ, located on Via Tortona in the heart of Milan’s design district. This vibrant area is home to renowned museums like Armani Silos and Mudec, art spaces like BASE and numerous art galleries. Additionally, you’ll find a variety of restaurants, hotels, and the picturesque Navigli area just a stone’s throw from our venue.
Milan is widely recognized for its recent economic and cultural transformations, which have also sparked the growth of art collectors. Photography has emerged as a powerful medium that appeals to these collectors, enriching their cultural experience.
MIA Photo Fair invites galleries from around the world to participate in this celebration of photography. The central theme for the upcoming 14th edition, chosen by Artistic Director Francesca Malgara, is “Dialogues”. This theme explores the dialogue between artists and audiences, between different cultures, between historical and contemporary photography and even between traditional artistic forms and new technologies. Dialogue serves as a fundamental bridge to mutual understanding, research and artistic innovation.
The 2025 edition will feature a diverse array of sections:
Main Section: Showcasing leading, long-established galleries with their finest photography collections. Beyond Photography—Dialogue: Curated by Domenico de Chirico, this section focuses on the interaction between photography and other media, as painting, sculpture, installation. Reportage Beyond Reportage: Curated by Emanuela Mazzonis di Pralafera, this section highlights the various facets of reportage, including documentary photography, photojournalism and street photography. Special Country Focus: Curated by Rischa Paterlini.
The fair will also features two acquisitions prizes such as the BNL BNP Paribas Award, which allows the winning artwork to become part of the bank’s art collection, and the Fiere di Parma Fund, established in 2022 to support exhibiting galleries.
Exhibitors who sign up by October 30, 2024, will be eligible for an early-bird discount on booth prices.
MIA Photo Fair last 2024 edition in numbers: 100 participating exhibitors, more than 70 galleries from Italy and abroad, 8 exhibitions and special projects, 20 publishers, 5 awards, 25 lectures in the cultural program, 27 editorial presentations, 7,500 square meters of exhibition space.
