Online presentations
Are you thinking about studying a bachelor’s or master’s programme in art and design, but are you not sure what suits you best? Attend an online presentation on Wednesday October 2 or Wednesday November 6. During these sessions, we will tell you what the KABK has to offer. You will get an overview of our study programmes and what it means to study at the KABK. After attending an online presentation, you will know better which master’s or bachelor’s programme suits you best.
Open Day
If you would like to know what studying at the KABK is like and want to taste the atmosphere, attend the Open Day on Saturday, November 30, 10–4pm (CET). At KABK, we offer a broad range of bachelor’s and master’s programmes. During the Open Day, you will get to know more about our programmes, their future career perspectives, and what distinguishes KABK from other academies. You can have a chat with students, alums, and lecturers and ask them all your questions about the admission requirements, the intensity of the programme and living in The Hague. Come and explore our academy buildings and check out the workshops. Sign up here and receive updates about the Open Day.
Besides the Open Day, we also organise other study orientation events to help you making your study choice. In December/January online portfolio advice sessions will take place during which you can discuss your portfolio before submitting your application. The KABK will also organise tours at the academy in January/February.

Learning community
Our English taught master’s and bachelor’s programmes address contemporary issues and are led by a diverse and socially engaged team with international practices and different backgrounds. Our tutors combine their passion for teaching with their practice in the cultural sector. Teaching at the KABK takes the form of small-scale lectures, with a combination of practical and theoretical artistic research. The Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague offers seven master’s programmes, all of which last two years, with the exception of Type and Media which is one-year programme. KABK does also offer seven bachelor’s programmes, two of which have also part-time trajectories. All BA programmes last four years.
Next to the above programmes, KABK offers the international doctorate programme PhDArts. This is an international doctorate programme offered in close collaboration with the Academy of Creative and Performing Arts (ACPA) of Leiden University. PhDArts functions as a platform for artists who regard theoretical reflection and artistic practice as intrinsically related and complementary.
