MUNCH is among Northern Europe’s most visited museums, and houses the largest collection of the world-renowned Norwegian artist Edvard Munch (1863–1944). In addition to the work of Edvard Munch, modernism and contemporary art make up the three pillars of MUNCH’s exhibition programme. We are now looking to strengthen our curatorial team with a curator in contemporary art and a senior/curator in modernism.
What you will do
In both roles, the senior/curator will:
–Develop proposals for exhibitions and other art projects
–Have curatorial responsibility for exhibitions and other art projects in MUNCH’s exhibitions programme, developed in close collaboration with the museum’s different professional teams
–Maintain and develop a high level of specialist expertise within the relevant field, and share knowledge and networks with colleagues at the museum
–Contribute to museum’s mediation and communication of art to different media outlets and publics
–In addition, the senior/curator for modernism will be expected to contribute to scholarly publications and to the management of the museum’s collections.
