Assistant Professor / PhD Position (m/f/d) in the Field of Architecture and Landscape
Employment start: June 2024
Contract duration: 48 months
Hours per week: 40 h/w
Responsibilities
Participation in the conception and preparation of courses. Organising courses and supervising students. Content and graphic development of research methods. Organisational assistance within research projects. Contributing to the development of research topics in the context of architecture and landscape. Acquisition of research and funding. Administrative tasks in teaching and research. Writing a dissertation.
Admission requirements
Completed master’s degree or diploma in architecture, landscape architecture or comparable studies.
Desired qualification
–Outstanding skills and experience in conceptualising and designing projects at the interface of architecture and landscape.
–Teaching experience in institute-relevant subjects such as systemic, more-than-human models of reality.
–Experience in the conception, preparation and management of research projects.
–Motivation to collaborate across disciplines.
–Critical discourse skills on sustainability approaches.
–Knowledge of or interest in the field of ecosystems and landscape planning issues and associated social, political and economic effects on builidng culture.
–Good knowledge of relevant software and willingness to work with software for modelling and performance of terrain, climate and vegetation (CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS, 3D modelling and simulation software, AI).
–Hands-on mentality with ability and willingness to work in teams.
–Excellent written and spoken German and English skills (at least C1).
Tasks including teaching and research in the field of design between architecture and landscape on the basis of climate design, vegetation, bionics, future energy, urban and landscape planning and nutrition as well as social practices.
We strongly encourage applicants with experience and interest in at least one of the following areas to apply: Systemic, ecological and performative design in architecture and landscape / Botany and biodiversity (climatic and vegetative performance) / Landscape urbanism, presentation methods and mapping techniques (analogue and digital) / Advanced and experimental concepts of architecture.
The submission of a portfolio is expected.
