re:arc institute invites you to join us for the second iteration of our biannual symposium program dedicated to exploring the architectures of planetary well-being, which we understand as ongoing practices of custodianship and care towards our socio-ecological environments. Architectures of planetary well-being offer an approach to understanding the frameworks that connect these systems, in turn allowing us to imagine the relational change needed to move beyond extractive paradigms.
The in-person gathering will be a program across two evenings, in collaboration with practitioners from a range of disciplinary perspectives—including architects, designers, environmental organizers, and artists—to consider themes that have emerged through and since our first symposium in February, particularly in regard to material realities and processes and our collective understandings of well-being and grief.
The program will take place in London, on November 17 and 18, 2023 from 6–11pm between the Zilkha Auditorium and Gallery 2 at venue Whitechapel Gallery and is co-convened in collaboration with Free Form World a cultural production studio by Nate Agbetu, building collaborations, commissions and programming for the formation of new worlds.
symposium 2.0 features Anupama Kundoo, Farzana Khan of Healing Justice London, Material Cultures, Lina Salih Didi, Miriam Adefris, Resolve Collective, Shumi Bose, Tori Tsui, Touching Bass, Worofila, and Zakia Sewell.
Entry is permitted by RSVP, we encourage you to sign up at our eventbrite pages for November 17 and November 18.
