Open call for The Starr Fellowship

Call for applications to The Starr Fellowship at the Royal Academy Schools in London, October 2024 entry.

Part of the prestigious Royal Academy of Arts in central London, the Royal Academy Schools is seeking candidates for The Starr Fellowship. This artist residency provides a 26,000 GBP bursary and a studio in the school for a US National, to support the development of their practice.  

The Starr Fellow will also gain teaching experience by contributing to the RA Schools programme. They have access to the RA Schools’ resources, including lectures and talks, technical facilities and expertise, and the RA’s extensive Collection, Library and Archive. At the end of the Fellowship, the artist is invited to exhibit their work.

The ideal Starr Fellow will:
–Be a US national currently based outside of the United Kingdom.
–Have an established practice in the United States, and will have taken part in exhibitions or other projects.
–Have teaching experience and an MFA or similar (desirable), or want to extend their teaching experience
