The Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław offers top of the range art and design education on three levels—Bachelor, Master, and PhD We are a state university and we educate students on full time and part time basis in five faculties: Faculty of Painting, Faculty of Sculpture and Art Mediation, Faculty of Interior Architecture and Design, Faculty of Ceramics and Glass and Faculty of Graphics and Media Art. Our main building is located in the historical part of Wroclaw and the new building—The Centre of Applied Arts and Innovation—is a state of art building with ultra-modern studios and facilities.
NASAD accreditation
Our academy has recently received Substantial Equivalency by NASAD—the National Association of Schools of Art and Design, an accrediting organization for art schools in the United States.
We are the only art academy in Poland and Europe that has achieved Substantial Equivalency status with accredited programs in the United States. This is the highest recommendation that an art academy outside of the United States can achieve.
NASAD sets the standard for master’s, bachelor’s, and doctoral degrees, which means that our degrees are now recognized as equivalent to some of the best art and design degrees in the world.
MFA in Visual Arts
First call recruitment open until April 30, 2023, second call recruitment May 15–June 30.
MFA in Visual Arts is a two-year (four semesters), interdisciplinary study programme, conducted by all faculties of the Academy, based on the student’s individual educational path, tailored to his/her predispositions and interests. Each student will be able to develop their knowledge and artistic skills in their own pace, making use of expertise of our teachers and state of art facilities of the academy.
Each student is provided with an individual mentoring programme focused on planning the educational, creative and future career path. Additionally we offer one place of master studies with a new double diploma path in partnership with Tokyo University of the Arts, Japan. The double degree program is aimed at candidates specializing in printmaking. Students qualified for the program will complete two semesters in Poland and two in Tokyo Geidai. By fulfilling the requirements of both institutions, the student will be able to receive two diplomas.
Tuition fee: 4,000 EUR per year (in case of advance payment for the whole academic year) and 150 PLN (or 35 EUR) the recruitment fee. For more information here or contact studyinenglish [at] asp.wroc.pl.
Doctoral School
The recruitment process for the academic year 2023/24 will start on June 5, 2023. Doctoral School is an artistic and research unit, educating people with significant artistic achievements and high research potential. The doctoral programme lasts six semesters and enables to obtain advanced knowledge and skills. It is a preparation for receiving a PhD degree in the field of art in the discipline of fine arts and art conservation.
The programme is free of charge for both EU and non-EU citizens. The Academy offers a monthly scholarship for each PhD student in the amount of minimum 2000 PLN and maximum 5000 PLN per month.
The Doctoral School of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław provides education in two language modes—in Polish and in English. Candidates willing to undertake education in English are obliged to present a document confirming their knowledge of English at B2 level. Candidates interested in learning in Polish should present a document confirming their knowledge of any foreign language at B2 level and demonstrate a good command of Polish language enabling fluent communication. Additionally, we offer free Polish language tutorials to all our international students.
