The exhibition Twilight Land, presented at Moderna Museet Malmö from October 29, 2022 through April 9, 2023, explores the feeling of standing on the threshold of the unknown. Of realising that our lives cannot continue in the same way and that the world, as we thought we knew it, is changing at a rapid pace. The convergence of ecological, geopolitical and democratic crises worries and frightens. At the same time, and in the midst of this darkness, a vibrant transition movement engages people all over the world, striving for a positive paradigm shift — towards more life-affirming ways of thinking and living. Twilight — the transition from day to night — might be associated with a fear of the approaching darkness, but also with deep reflection, imagination, and creativity. Born into the twilight of humanity, the texts and artistic practises featured in this book derive their nourishment from somewhere between destruction and creation, confusion and clarity, fear and hope.

Jimmy Robert: Asymmetrical Grammar opens on April 1. Jimmy Robert works with staging art historical discussions and contemporary issues. His art, which often brings out a poetic dimension in everyday materials, breaks down the division between image and object. Robert examines the relationship between body and material and exposes art history to new interpretations in regard to representation and identity. During the exhibition period there will be several performance occasions. On display, as part of the exhibition, are works by Sturtevant and Duchamp from the Moderna Museet Collection.
Lotte Laserstein: A Divided Life will open on May 6. The German-Swedish painter (1898–1993) is one of the art world’s most exciting rediscoveries. The exhibition is the largest to date in Sweden and the Nordic region of her work. It focuses equally on the multifaceted works she created in exile in Sweden and those she made before leaving Germany.
