The Department of Fine Arts is seeking to appoint two Teaching Assistants in the BA Fine Arts (part-time: 50 percent each). Start date: August 1, 2023. Both appointments are limited to three years.
Duties and responsibilities:
–Providing teaching assistance and supporting the teaching faculty in the field of «Artistic Practice» (research, conceptualisation, co-organisation of excusions and exhibitions)
–Co-supervising student projects
–Co-teaching classes with faculty members (in English or German)
–Administrative and organisational tasks
You should have developed your own artistic practice, have relevant experience in your respective field and wish to acquire teaching skills at the onset of your professional career. You must hold a university or academy degree or an equivalent qualification. Moreover, you are expected be proactive, integrative and you should possess good interpersonal and team skills. You must be curious and open-minded in working with students and staff. We expect a very good command of German and/or English (written and spoken).
Both positions offer postholders the opportunity to work with committed students, a well-functioning programme team and an international network of artists and theorists attached to the department as teaching faculty. We offer progressive terms and conditions of employment. Both appointments are limited to three years. The successful candidates will be employed in accordance with the regulations of the Canton of Zurich. The place of work is Zurich.
