From July 8, 2016 to January 2, 2017, discover the new exhibition The Great Animal Orchestra at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris.

The Great Animal Orchestra
The Great Animal Orchestra is inspired by the work of American musician and bio-acoustician Bernie Krause. Conceived as a conversation between the great polyphonic orchestra of animal voices and a visual orchestra consisting of works by international artists, this exhibition invites the public to discover the diversity and extreme beauty of the aural animal world.

With Pierre Bodo, Cai Guo-Qiang, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, Raymond Depardon, Bernie Krause, JP Mika, Manabu Miyazaki, Moke, Claudine Nougaret, Ryuichi Sakamoto, Christian Sardet, Hiroshi Sugimoto, TALLER Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo, Shiro Takatani, Tara Océans, Cyprien Tokoudagba, United Visual Artists, Agnès Varda, Adriana Varejão

Website of the exhibition
Envisionned as a supplement to the exhibition presented at the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, the website, www.legrandorchestredesanimaux.com, allows you to become the conductor of nature’s vast musical ensemble. Guided by Bernie Krause’s voice in english and by the artist Camille’s voice in french, this website lifts the veil on the mysteries of the animal kingdom’s acoustic harmony, and suggests an unprecedented interactive experience to discover the soundscape’s ecology and spirit.

The Fondation Cartier “en musique”
In 2016, the Fondation Cartier has launched its music channel on Deezer: the 32 years of exhibitions and the 22 years of Nomadic Nights are a testament to the Fondation Cartier’s privileged relationship with music. Artists, scientists, intellectuals, and personalities that are close to the Fondation Cartier have participated in this musical adventure by suggesting playlists specifically created for Deezer. Starting in June, you can discover the musical selections of David Lynch, Yue Minjun, Cédric Villani, Bernie Krause, Beatriz Milhazes, Guillermo Kuitca, Pierre Kwenders, Alain Dominique Perrin, as well as many other current and future guests since this page will be regularly updated on fondation.cartier.com/deezer.

Playlists from the Rock’n’Roll 39-59Born in the Streets – Graffiti, and Fernell Franco, Cali Clair-obscur exhibitions, along with a selection of artists that have performed for the Nomadic Nights since their creation in 1994, will also be presented. The Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain is the first cultural institution to offer music playlists that relate to its history and to the strong ties it has built since 1984 with artistic figures. These curated and accessible hours of music thus exclusively prolong the Fondation Cartier’s offer to its public.
