Catherine Ince appointed Director, Exhibitions and Programmes

ARoS Aarhus Art Museum announces the appointment of Catherine Ince to the new position of Director Exhibitions and Programmes

ARoS Aarhus Art Museum is delighted to welcome Catherine Ince as its new Director of Exhibitions and Programmes. She joins the newly created leadership team headed by Museum Director Rebecca Matthews. 

Catherine Ince leaves the post of Chief Curator of V&A East, a new museum and collection research centre, currently under construction in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park London. Here she has led the curatorial and creative programme planning for both sites under Gus Casely-Hayford for the past 6 years.  Prior to this, Ince was senior curator V&A, and curator at the Barbican Art Gallery.

Ince joins ARoS at a time of expansion and new visioning as the museum establishes the audience experience of The Dome, a Skyspace by James Turrell, and undergoes site development to achieve next level spaces and opportunities. She will lead the curatorial approach, collection dimension, and public engagement activities that reach and grow the large audiences already devoted to attending programmes at ARoS.

Ince brings a portfolio of knowledge that encompasses visual art, applied design and architecture. Her experience in setting exciting and innovative collection access and creating engaging exhibitions and public programmes events ensures a bright future for ARoS and its plans.
