On Friday November 11, 2022, Galleri Bo Bjerggaard opens the doors to Peter Linde Busk’s fourth solo show in the gallery, featuring new works from 2022. The exhibition Various Positions comprises twenty-seven new paintings, eight ceramic sculptures and five ceramic reliefs.
Based on the artist’s experience from earlier relief works, Linde Busk explores new combinations and materials in this exhibition. In the new works, for example, the tactility, sensuousness, and texture of the materials are in focus – the craftsmanship plays a greater role. In Peter Linde Busk’s new works the material comprises different kinds of fabrics and textures, synthetic and natural materials in combination. This produces a novel and often delicate and relief-like expression. In several cases, paper pulp is transformed into paper maché, which is integrated into the works as a finely processed whiteness, seemingly adding a unique soft and graceful character to the picture.
In Various Positions, Peter Linde Busk explores a new mode of expression and a new perspective on his practice. Recognisable ceramic figures are linked to the tactile works which, in turn, embody figurative traces—the hallmark of Linde Busk.
In the catalogue, Peter Linde Busk says, “I think that I’m always in the process of producing a work, it’s not really a question of starting or stopping, it’s somehow an ongoing process. Some of the things that contribute to a work ending up in a specific way are very much to do with materials and new techniques of treating specific materials and surfaces.”
The exhibition catalogue contains a text by the artist and critic Erik Steffensen. Steffensen draws parallels between Asger Jorn and Peter Linde Busk in relation to materials and figuration. This text is an encounter between the two different artists Steffensen and Linde Busk. Steffensen opens up perspectives on Linde Busk’s artistic process.
