Full-Time Faculty and Program Director, LeRoy E. Hoffberger School of Painting MFA
The ideal candidate will have an established practice that demonstrates a critical engagement with painting, including: a dedicated painting practice; critical writing on painting, culture and theory; engagement with contemporary issues; and an understanding of the future of painting and its possibilities.
Academic Associate Dean, Graduate Studies
The academic associate dean is a twelve month administrative leadership position supporting curricular operations with the goal of creating more sustainable, transparent, and collaborative systems and processes, as well as forwarding innovative programs and partnerships that realize MICA’s mission, vision, and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and globalization.
Full-time appointment in the Graphic Design (Undergraduate) program
The MICA Graphic Design department seeks applications for a full-time faculty position with a multi-year renewable contract in a non-tenure institution. The educator will teach courses across the undergraduate GD curriculum which is devoted to pedagogy and research within a framework of curiosity, generosity, collaboration, and critical inquiry.
Full-time appointment in the Illustration (Undergraduate) program
The Illustration Department seeks candidates that are experienced illustrators and educators and are active in both their professional and academic careers. Candidates should have the ability to teach at multiple levels: from freshmen to seniors. Candidates should be able to develop syllabi for current and new courses, design diverse assignments, achieve common outcomes for each class, critique student artwork, both individually and in groups and are able to lecture knowledgeably and eloquently on illustration topics.
Full-time appointment in the Product Design program
The Product Design Department’s curriculum and philosophy encourages students to explore both traditional and emerging practices in the broad sense of the discipline with a focus on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and local/global practices. The candidate will be capable of teaching all levels of the undergraduate program, be proficient in traditional and emerging techniques, and have a broad understanding of new approaches to Product Design.
Full-time faculty and Program Director, First Year Experience (FYE) programMICA seeks an experienced, dynamic, and visionary academic leader and a creative practitioner, educator, and colleague, with teaching and leadership experience at the foundational level, ready to lead the First Year Experience operations, management, and curricular development. The program director is the administrative leader, and assumes responsibility for curriculum and program facilities, academic programming and budgets, program assessment, management of full-time and part-time faculty as well as part-time faculty hiring.
