The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture presents its fall 2022 lectures and exhibitions series, exploring a range of issues vital to the study and practice of architecture, design, and the built environment. Starting Wednesday, September 7, and continuing throughout the semester, speakers representing a broad cross-section of cultural practices—including architects, landscape architects, filmmakers, scholars, and designers—will present lectures addressing contemporary topics across scales, modes of engagement, and geographies.
Welcoming solely in-person visitors for the first time in two years, this series plays an integral role in fulfilling the school’s commitment to fostering lively intellectual curiosity and the open exchange of ideas. In addition to the lecture series, this semester’s public programming includes two exhibitions: 2123 EISDF (August 29–September 30), curated by Tekena Koko, the school’s 2021–23 Emerging Scholar in Design, and Twilight Requiem (October 11–November 18), curated by the school’s 2020–22 Emerging Scholar Stephanie Choi.
All lectures are free and open to the public, and unless otherwise noted will take place in person in the Goldsmith Lecture Hall with recordings available on the Texas Architecture YouTube channel following the live events. All times are listed in Central Time (CT). Event details are subject to change. Please visit soa.utexas.edu for the most up-to-date information.
