Contemporary art centre KRONE COURONNE is pleased to announce its fall program for 2022.

September 2–October 8
Radical Sources
Claire Fontaine, Dorota Gawęda & Eglė Kulbokaitė, Laurent Güdel, Jeanne Jacob, Hunter Longe, Lou Masduraud, Sadie Plant, Augustin Rebetez, Antoine Rubin, Jan van Oordt
There is a stream that follows the Arc of Jura (Switzerland) through St-Imier down to Biel/Bienne, bringing with it the echoes of a politically engaged culture, anarchist watchmakers and free spirits, as well as the first International anti-authoritarian congress in St-Imier 150 years ago. “Is there something in the waters of the river Suze, or in the air of St-Imier?” asks author Sadie Plant in a letter exchange with artist Jan van Oordt. The collective exhibition Radical Sources takes its source from the history of anarchism in the Jura region and looks at artist practices that crystallise socio-political issues and reflect upon alternatives to current societal structures.

In addition to the exhibition Radical Sources, a video programme proposed by Nicolas Raufaste is presented in the attic floor of KRONE COURONNE: a selection of works by five artists gathered around punk attitude, hydrofeminism, injustice, alternative living and self-criticism.

Sorry for my late reply is an attempt to organise and alleviate random fears. It’s an essay about jetlag and its impact on relationships. Daytime versus night time. It’s about putting things off, about parties, and what stays. The exhibition shows a new series of works inspired by Mandine Knoepfel’s earlier work, as a way to keep ties with the past. Guest artists are invited to engage with the space and to connect  in a physical way through live performances, drawings, emails and karaoke sessions.

October 28–December 3
Céline Ducrot​, Vanessa Safavi
Looking at oneself. Taking care of oneself. Being alone. Taking care of others. Being alone together. The exhibition introduces the pictorial work of Céline Ducrot in dialogue with a new sculpture series by Vanessa Safavi. The works blend into an immersive environment, like a capsule or a carnal envelope. A relationship to touch and flesh, skin and body as carriers of personal histories, physical or emotional trauma, as well as cultural heritage.
