Please join the concurrent opening receptions, kicking off the exhibition All That Light: A Ten Year Retrospective of the Artists-in-Residence Program (2012–2022) (RSVP here). Guests will convene in the Arts + Public Life Gallery and the Reva & David Logan Center Gallery to celebrate the remarkable decade of the Artists-in-Residence (AIR) program co-administered by UChicago’s Arts + Public Life (APL) and the Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture (CSRPC).
Curator Tracie D. Hall has assembled works by over 30 artists, showcasing the cumulative impact of APL/CSRPC’s AIR program. The show will feature a wide range of multimedia works, panels, and performances from the program’s alumni.
Playing on the multiple meanings of light: to make things visible, to illuminate or ignite, and something that is easily carried—July 8 will ignite a summer of All That Light companion programming. We invite you to join virtual and in-person events further exploring the creative production and practices of the artists who participated in the first ten years of the residency program.
