Columbia GSAPP is excited to present the digital launch of the End of Year Show 2022, showcasing a wide selection of work created over the course of the year by GSAPP’s diverse and international student body spanning degree programs in Architecture; Urban Design; Urban Planning; Historic Preservation; Critical, Curatorial, and Conceptual Practices (CCCP); and Real Estate Development. The expansive online display reflects Columbia GSAPP’s leading role in education in the built environment and captures the School’s commitment to combining disciplinary expertise with critical examination and playful discovery. The work spans digital and physical modes of making, and reflects a unique moment in the School’s history as it transitioned to on-campus teaching and learning.
Among the many highlights in this year’s edition are portfolios from the graduating architecture and urban design students; theses by urban planning and historic preservation students; audio-based interviews by CCCP students; and development case study capstone projects by real estate students. The exhibition also features documentation of Collaborative Courses co-taught with Howard University and Tuskegee University during the 2021-2022 academic year, as well as the student-designed pavilion WEB. Installed on Columbia’s Morningside Campus through June 2022, WEB includes an illuminated inflatable canopy and custom-built furniture.
The exhibition is organized by Columbia GSAPP with the support of academic program directors, faculty, students, and the GSAPP Making Studio.
