Rijksakademie Open Studios
The Rijksakademie opens its doors again this spring for its annual Open Studios. This year the event will take place over two long weekends: from May 12–15 and from May 19–22. Studios, project spaces, the garden, and all conceivable spaces in between, will be transformed into viewing and meeting places where 46 artists in residence will share their artistic practices and present what has emerged from a period of experimenting, researching and producing new work.

Rijksakademie residency
The Rijksakademie is an international artist-in-residence programme. Over the course of two years, a diverse and multidisciplinary group of artists challenge themselves to deepen their practice and explore new territories, in and beyond the art field. Artists are supported with a studio and a stipend and enter into an open-ended process of artistic research and development. They have access to a variety of exchanges, including peer to peer dialogue, regular visits from a wide range of leading art professionals (advisors), technical workshops and guidance from technical specialists, and the library and historical collection provide a theoretical context that allows history to find its way into contemporary art practice.
Amsterdam Art Week
Rijksakademie Open Studios 2022 coincides with the 10th edition of Amsterdam Art Week that takes place from May 11–15. Together with 66 art institutions—including prominent galleries, museums, residencies and projects spaces—Amsterdam Art presents a vibrant programme full of festive openings, open studios, artist talks, panel discussions, performances, film screenings and gallery tours.
