This workshop introduces you to the practice-based issues of iconic research in the area of Visual Communication.
Drawing with codes: July 11–15 with Anna Flurina Kälin
The computer, with its extreme precision, incredible speed and blind obedience, is a novel tool for creating images; one that serves as a contrast to all images that were not machine made. You will work with this contrast.
Poster Design: July 11–15 with Jiri Oplatek
Pursue approaches that lead to precise and aesthetically pleasing poster designs and experimentally test various ideas in drafts and refine, analyze, question, and condense them into a final poster.
Immersive Images: July 18–July 22 with Lena Frei
Get an insight into creating a 3D project in Unity and learn how to use 3D models, shaders, lighting, and how to program simple interactions with the C# programming language.
Design History—the Myth of Swiss Style: August 8–12 with Sandra Bischler
Internationally, Swiss graphic design enjoys an excellent reputation: This workshop offers you an introduction to the history of Swiss graphic design based on current research studies.
Podcasts: August 8–12 with Patricia Huijnen and Isabella Maund
In keeping with the motto “radio is to podcasts as television is to YouTube”, you will dive into the intimate, exciting, chattering world of podcasts and explore the medium of podcasts as part of a digital culture.

In this workshop questions that explore the viewers’ perception will be developed and tested, and different approaches to data collection will be presented and applied.
