The TINNE young museum klausen in the Klausen Art and Culture Ensemble is an ambitious educational and urban development project for a children’s museum. The proposal for a children’s museum picks up on the successful history of Klausen as the location of an artists’ colony at the end of the 19th century and seeks to revive it as a place of creative encounter and a venue for interaction between visitors to the museum and contemporary artists. In this context, the sponsor of the museum project, the TINNE Foundation for Art, Culture and Education, South Tyrol, is launching a Europe-wide interdisciplinary design competition for artist collectives with architectural expertise and architectural collectives with links to the field of art that have experience and competence deriving from previous practice in the fields of architecture, art, urban development, sociology, participation, ecology and landscape planning. We are looking forward to museum designs with spaces that are open to experiences and adventure and promote inspiring encounters between children, young people, the young at heart and artists.
