The purpose of the KAMS Publishing Korean Art is to enhance accessibility to and awareness of Korean visual arts by experts and researchers abroad. We kindly request your interest and participation in our programs.
Eligible applicants
–Authors, museums, universities, research institutes, or publishers in and outside of Korea that are looking to publish books on Korean visual arts abroad.
–Visual arts magazines or journals based outside Korea planning on a special issue or a special section on Korean art.
Grant amount
–Books: KRW 50 million (approximately 42,000 USD).
–Periodicals: KRW 10 million (approximately 8,400 USD).
Eligible publications
–Books and periodicals originally written in or translated into a language other than Korean.
–Exhibition catalog, single-artist anthologies, introductory books, collection of artworks, artists’ books, artist monographs or books introducing an art scene, etc.
–Special issue or a special section in an issue.
Allowed expenses
–Books: writing of manuscripts and translation, editing, production costs (design and printing costs, fees for use of copyrighted images, etc.)
–Periodicals: writing of manuscripts and airfare, accommodation costs.
Project period
–Books: up to three years (~2024)
–Periodicals: within 2022
