‘En el Cielo’ online

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
For those of you who were unable to visit Venice this summer, or while there missed our exhibition in the sky, you can now view “En el Cielo” online.
With warm regards,
Sandra Antelo Suarez
Editorial Director

“En el Cielo” was an exhibition of ephemeral, time based works which took place in the skies over Venice in June of 2001. Twelve artists, many of whose work blurs the boundaries between art and life, were invited to participate with site-specific drawings. These works were then redrawn in the sky by professional skywriters during the opening days of the 49th Biennale.
“En el Cielo” continues TRANS>’s ongoing effort to expand and problematize the possibilities inherent in the publication medium and exhibition sites.
A portfolio containing photographs of each of the eleven “En el Cielo” projects is now available through TRANS> editions.
Participating artist:
Janet Cardiff & George Bures Miller
Olafur Eliasson
Valie EXPORT
Koo Jeong-a
Glenn Ligon
Paul McCarthy
Dave Muller
Vik Muniz
Gabriel Orozco
Rirkrit Tiravanija
Jeff Wall
