SUPERFLEX: TOOLS/ + COUNTER-STRIKE
25.5 21.7 2002
The internationally celebrated artist group Superflex will open their largest solo project in Rooseum on 25th May 2002. This will be the first time most of their diverse social and political projects will be gathered together and combined with a new initiative using the explosive computer network game Counter-Strike. The game will be available to play by all visitors and demonstrations and tournaments will be organised.
A vital part of the project will also happen outside the Rooseum building in Fosie, where a new local television studio will be established in Augustensborgsgarden for residents to broadcast their own programmes over the Internet.
MARIA LINDBERG:
Collected Documentation of Artists Books
25.5 21.7 2002
In the upper gallery at Rooseum Maria Lindberg has made a personal selection of documentation from artists books published during the last century. Artists from Kurt Schwitters, Francis Picabia and Ed Ruscha to Dorothy Ianonne and Tacita Dean are included. The original collection of around 250 artists books was gathered together by Maria Lindberg over several years and is now permanently installed at Linköping library. For the Rooseum presentation, she has made photographs of the covers and notable pages, providing an overview of one hundred years of artists books and including both recognized classics and rarities. As well as offering a very personal journey through the collection, the work as a whole is an opportunity to follow her way of thinking and how her selections relate to her own artistic activity.
