Asia Art Archive (AAA) presents its Annual Fundraiser this month with an auction of 86 works of art generously donated by local and international artists and galleries. In partnership with Christie’s, the artworks will be available to preview from November 10–13 at The Space in Sheung Wan; bids can be placed in advance online via Paddle8 from now until November 14. The accompanying dinner and live auction will follow on November 14 at the iconic floating restaurant Jumbo Kingdom.
AAA is grateful to the artists and galleries who have generously donated works of art for the auction. Featured in this year’s auction are the works of local and international artists including Tiffany Chung, Ho Sin Tung, Lee Kit, Liu Wei, Map Office, Yoko Ono, Nilima Sheikh, Song Dong, Danh Vō, Wucius Wong, Xu Bing, Samson Young, and Zhang Xiaogang.

Asia Art Archive: 15 Years and Beyond
Founded in 2000, AAA has built one of the most valuable collections of material on contemporary art in the region—open to the public free of charge and increasingly accessible from its website. More than a static repository waiting to be discovered, AAA instigates critical thinking and dialogue for a wide range of audiences via public, research, residency, and educational programmes. Through the creation and sharing of new knowledge around the recent histories of art in Asia, AAA enables new means to articulate, and respond to, the multiple realities that shape the world we inhabit. As a registered charity and independent non-profit, the annual auction is essential to sustaining the mission and work of the Archive.
While looking forward to a refreshed digital platform and the prospect of a new and permanent home for its expanding collection and projects, AAA marks its 15th anniversary with 15 Invitations, a year-long programme that invites notable creative practitioners and resident artists to alternatively navigate where the organisation originated and where it may be going. The 15 Invitations take various sizes, forms, and directions as AAA’s Field Notes blog traces the 15 participants as they contribute notes that document their work.
