Reimagining Museum Narratives in the 21st Century
November 17–19, 2021
We’re just one week away from Asia Society’s 2021 Arts & Museum Summit, which will be held virtually on November 17–19, 2021! Held biennially, the Summit features presentations, panel discussions, and workshops by leading arts professionals from the Asia Pacific region and beyond. Don’t miss your chance to join a dynamic convening of curators, artists, and museum and arts professionals to examine issues across the field that matter today.
This year’s Summit, “Reimagining Museum Narratives in the 21st Century,” will focus on issues relating to decolonization in the arts. Some of the topics to be explored include decolonizing curatorial practices, re-negotiating art historical narratives, and deconstructing the legacies of regional colonial histories.
It’s not too late to take part! Register now to hear from some of the leading authorities in the arts field today. Registration includes access to all summit events and an electronic copy of the 2021 Arts & Museum Summit publication, Reimagining Museum Narratives in the 21st Century, a compendium of essays by featured speakers expounding on the topics covered across the summit. Special discounted rates for artist and students available upon registration.
Details about registration, the full list of speakers, and the agenda are available at AsiaSociety.org/MuseumSummit.

Each Summit focuses on a specific topic that reflects the current thinking in the arts and museum world. Past Summits have examined issues including the surge of new museums in Asia, the urgency of cultural heritage preservation, audience engagement, and collection practices and philosophies at arts institutions.
