ARoS Aarhus Art Museum presents two major immersive exhibitions.
Lu Yang: Digital Descending
The artist creates fantastical, often painful, and shocking images which represent an interdisciplinary blend of religion, philosophy, neuroscience, psychology, and modern technology, as well as the allusions to real life forms and structures of natural and religious origin. The exhibition introduces to Lu Yangs virtual parallel world inhabited by gods, demons, heroes, warriors, and cyborgs inspired by universes hailing from the realms of gaming, manga, and Eastern religions.
Shoplifter: Hypernature
The exhibition created by Icelandic artist Shoplifter/ Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir is a colourful grotto of cathedral proportions. Hypernature is an immersive landscape-like installation made of synthetic hair extensions, that places the viewer in a surreal and enveloping environment that activates the body and our senses through sight, touch, and sound. An immersive experience for all the senses, full of playful humour and magic.
