Open call for digital art

We are excited to announce the launch of the first edition of LEONARDO REBOOTED, a production grant created by Da Vinci Labs (France) and curated/coordinated by Quo Artis (Spain).
Da Vinci Labs will be a multi-disciplinary research centre to be built in 2022/23 in the Touraine region of France. The project aims to create an experimental space to engage critical contemporary issues and topics, and to promote the experimentation and innovation of Art & Science practices. Following this philosophy, Da Vinci Labs is launching this grant to support the production of two new artworks, the only restriction is that the final projects must be presented in digital, sound or video format, in other words, projects should not require a physical location.
This open call has two categories: Artificial Intelligence & Quantum Computing and Synthetic Biology. The selected projects (one per category) will receive 5,000 EUR to cover the production costs. No entry or administration fee is required to submit your proposal.

Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing
Mónica Bello, curator and Art historian. Head of Arts at CERN, the arts programme of the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva. Eduardo Kac, contemporary artist, particularly well known for his works that integrate biotechnology, politics and aesthetics. Manuela de Barros, philosopher. Assistant Professor in Philosophy, Aesthetics and Theory of Arts at Université Paris 8 Vincennes - Saint-Denis. Her researches concern the relationships between Arts, Sciences and Technologies. Álvaro Veliz Osorio, Da Vinci Labs Quantum Practice Lead. Quantum field theorist educated at Utrecht University and the IST-Lisbon. Tatiana Kourochkina, art and science curator and producer. Co-founder and director of Quo Artis.
Synthetic Biology
Oron Catts, artist, curator and researcher. Co-founder of SymbioticA, an artistic research centre housed within the School of Human Sciences, The University of Western Australia. Vid Simoniti, Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Liverpool and Director of MA in Art, Aesthetics and Cultural Institutions (SI/UK). Xavier Aubry, Da Vinci Labs CEO and Synthetic Biology expert. DVM from the National Veterinary School of Maisons-Alfort and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He has been involved in EC-funded research and innovation projects for over 15 years. Nadège Grabowski, DaVinci Labs Health practice lead. Cell therapy expert, PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology from Institut Galien Paris-Sud. Tatiana Kourochkina.
