CAA offers a limited number of support, travel, and registration grants to members, both international and domestic, to attend in-person and virtual components of our conference. These grants are funded solely by donations from CAA members—please contribute today.
If you are a Chair of a conference session, consider nominating your presenters for the following grants:
The CAA Support Grant in Memory of Archibald Cason Edwards, Senior, and Sarah Stanley Gordon Edwards supports women who are presenting at the conference and who are nearing or have recently completed their PhD. Applications are due November 15, 2021.
The Samuel H. Kress Foundation Conference Travel Fellowship for International Scholars provides funding for international scholars presenting on European art before 1830 to participate in the conference. Applications are due November 15, 2021.
CAA participants may also choose to apply for:
Annual Conference CAA Member Support Grants are awarded to a limited number of international members, students, emerging scholars, practitioners, and artists who are CAA members participating in the conference to support their ability to take part in the annual conference. Applications are due November 15, 2021.
Support Grants for Annual Conference Registration are awarded to a limited number of members-in-need to cover annual conference registration. Applications are due December 15, 2021.
CAA also offers grants for research and educational travel:
Terra Foundation for American Art Research Travel Grants provide support to scholars to travel to or from the US for research topics dedicated to the art and visual culture of the United States. Applications are due January 15, 2022.
The Art History Fund for Travel to Special Exhibitions is designed to award up to 10,000 USD to art history classes funds to cover students’ and instructors’ costs to attend special exhibitions at museums. The purpose of the grant is to enhance students’ first-hand knowledge of original works of art. Applications are due January 15, 2022.
