Design lecture series fall 2021

The Rutgers MFA in Design program’s fall 2021 Design lecture series features speakers engaged in research-driven design practices. The lineup represents a wide range of approaches to making, scrutinizing, and understanding design and contemporary culture. These diverse perspectives inform vital discussions that grapple with design as it relates to indigeneity, disability, social justice, and human rights. Speakers commit to engaging in a robust dialogue with our community, reflecting the MFA in Design program’s mission to foster critical, interdisciplinary, and speculative approaches to design.

About the Rutgers MFA in Design
The Rutgers MFA in Design is a two-year, full-time course of study focused on the innovative use of research and technology in the creation of publications, experiences, exhibitions, information, and interfaces. This studio program is suited for designers, artists, technologists, and others who seek a context to realize creative ideas and to address real-world contexts outside of a strictly commercial realm. Graduates are prepared for a contemporary design studio practice that contributes to the future of arts, science, humanities, and culture. Housed within the Department of Art & Design, this new MFA program actively engages students with resources and fields of study throughout the wider university.
