The Art and Art History Department of Columbia College Chicago announces its 2021–22 Art Now! lecture series, online & open to the general public, featuring diverse practitioners and thinkers at the forefront of contemporary art, art history, and theory. This series includes artists, art historians, curators, gallerists, critics, entrepreneurs, and arts administrators at all career stages and with a wide range of material engagements. The Art Now! series participates in Columbia College Chicago’s transformation into an anti-racist institution that actively promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion as vitally important to its present and future success. Speakers reflect on their practices in relation to students’ interests and also engage directly with them in more informal groups, panel discussions, studio visits, and class visits. Previous guests have included Sue Coe, Maria Gaspar, Myra Greene, EJ Hill, Jamillah James, Eduardo Kac, Natani Notah, Ebony Patterson, Paul Sacaradiz, Shannon Stratton, and Chemi Rosado-Seijo.

The 2021–22 lecture series will be conducted online, via Zoom webinar and YouTube Live broadcast. Visit the Art Now! website for full details on each speaker and livestream links.

All lectures are free and open to the public. American Sign Language interpretation will be provided in the Zoom webinar.
