International Festival of Architecture and Design
September 2–5, 2021
Concéntrico is the International Architecture and Design Festival of Logroño that proposes to reflect on the urban environment and the city. The new edition, Concéntrico 07, will be held from September 2–5, 2021.
The festival invites visitors to explore the city through installations, encounters, activities and exhibitions that discuss public space and places of coexistence—even more relevant at this time of pandemic—with a focus on the sustainability of materials and processes.
Since 2015, the festival has brought together 73 urban installations in its five editions, in addition to the proposals of 18 teams participating in Concéntrico 07 in 2021:

The city and the locations
The seventh edition of Concéntrico expands the usual focus of the festival, the historic centre of Logroño, and connects this area with spaces that allow the creation of new approaches to the urban environment.
In addition to the usual spaces, new locations have been added that are a clear example of the objectives of the festival, a project that is constantly listening and evolving in order to continue to propose debates that focus on the city itself: the Villanueva neighbourhood, the Town Hall Square, the new Intermodal Station, the renovated courtyard of the Museum of La Rioja, and, most notably, the Ebro Park, where three proposals will be located.
The urban character of Concentrico is linked to sustainable processes. In this sense, the new locations, selected for their high landscape and ecological value, which seek to strengthen the relationship with the natural space of the Ebro River, the heritage and the history of the context, stand out. Spaces such as Viña Lanciano, or those close to the river, are a good example of this.
The management of the projects is focused on the reuse and recycling of the interventions. Also relevant is the base material we use, Garnica plywood, which plays a fundamental role in the circular economy, as it is renewable, recyclable, reusable and biodegradable. This area will be extended in 2021 with signage, programmes and exhibitions, using sustainable material.
Itinerancy to Madrid
After Logroño and programmed with the Directorate General for the Urban Agenda and Architecture, Concéntrico 07 will continue in September in Madrid with the transfer of several of its interventions to the Paseo de la Castellana, in the Nuevos Ministerios area, thanks to the involvement of the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda. The exhibition allows the Festival to deepen its reflection on cities and urban environments.
