Experimental Institutionalism: Contemporary Art and Curatorial Ecologies
What are the current and future models that are shaping contemporary art and curatorial practice, thinking, and ecology? ACCA’s 2021 lecture series engages 16 local and international thinkers on eight key topics that position contemporary art in dialogue with wider global economic, technological, environmental and political contexts.
This year the series has been recalibrated from lectures to dialogues, involving Australian and international colleagues. Released monthly via video and podcast, the series seeks to maintain and strengthen international connections, at a time when radical limitations on travel, movement and community gathering continue to impact the possibilities of cultural production, display and collaboration across the globe.
Largely asking, “What are the priorities for art now, and how can we work better together?” Experimental Institutionalism: Contemporary Art and Curatorial Ecologies is a thought-provoking program of vital discussions for our times.
