Seeking Curator of Public Programs

Job description
Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Architecture provides deep immersion in the discipline of architecture, intensified by the broader Carnegie Mellon culture of interdisciplinary innovation and creative inquiry.

Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Architecture is searching for a part-time Curator of Public Programs. This is an intellectually challenging opportunity for someone interested in contemporary architectural discourse. S/he/they will be responsible for developing the school’s annual lecture series and coordinating other school events into our annual public programs. Competitive applicants will possess knowledge of national and international contemporary architecture and related fields.

Core responsibilities will include:
–Working with faculty advisory committee to develop themes and identify and invite important voices in the field of architecture and related disciplines
–Administering the school’s public programs including managing logistics for speaker travel, entertainment and honoraria
–Working with the school’s communications staff and head in administering the advertising of said programs
–Local travel to off-campus locations plus evening and weekend work may be required based on lecture times and contact availability of lectures
–Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
–Bachelor’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in related field
–1–3 years’ experience in related field with prior curatorial experience in academic, nonprofit and/or arts organization
