The MAXXI - National Museum of XXI Century Arts reopens its doors with an exceptional programme of exhibitions, focuses and special projects, accompanied by a rich public programme and many educational activities for children, students and families, online and in presence.
An Italian genius of world architecture: Aldo Rossi. A great artist who is still a source of inspiration for many creative people today: Giacomo Balla. An absolute master of photography: Sebastião Salgado. Two crucial protagonists of the international art scene: Thomas Hirschhorn and Cao Fei. A reflection on the themes of our time in the A Story for the Future. MAXXI’s first decade’s project, the engaging exhibition/installation conceived for the Museum’s tenth anniversary and in the group show dedicated to the contemporary art scene in the countries of former Yugoslavia.
And more: a journey through feminine architecture starting from the 20th century, the new partnership with Swatch Art Peace Hotel and the 10th anniversary of the consolidated MAXXI Alcantara Project, the focuses on Navin Rawanchaikul, Luca Vitone, Scarpa and Olivetti, the photography of the Graziadei Prize, The Independent, the Videogallery, the performance Gardien Party 2020, attention to young talent starting with the MAXXI BVLGARI PRIZE, also the support and promotion of post-pandemic artistic communities. And, in spring, the eagerly awaited opening of MAXXI L’Aquila.
