“Art Takes Over” as Singapore’s signature visual arts season, Singapore Art Week (SAW), returns in its ninth edition.
For the first time, SAW 2021 will be presented in a complementary blended format, with over 100 programmes threading across both physical and digital platforms, enabling audiences from around the world to discover and experience art anytime and anywhere.

IMPART Collectors’ Show 2021: Leap Of Faith by Art Outreach turns travel and border restrictions on its head to bring online audiences what is impossible to bring in person—a rare glimpse inside the homes and minds of private collectors who go above and beyond in their passion for art, with rare footage of remarkable installations that are site-specifically embedded in private spaces.
Open to Interpretation by The Asian Art Institutum, is a collaboration with Gasworks, London and co-curated by Alessio Antoniolli, Gasworks and Wells Fray-Smith of Whitechapel Gallery, London. Open to Interpretation invites five Singaporean contemporary artists to conceptualise and create digital artworks exploring the resonance and impact of the online platform.
Deep Field Cinema by INTER-MISSION and Currency Design in collaboration with the Interdisciplinary Art Festival Tokyo (IAFT) explores the future of image-making, digital connections and investigates where media and technology can take us.
SAW Art Symposium by the National Arts Council brings together a series of curated talks, panel discussions and fireside chats. Led by local and international cultural leaders, policymakers, as well as industry movers and shakers, the conversations will explore key issues in the future of artists and artmaking in area of digital technology, sustainability, placemaking and the public space. Look out for a special feature in the line-up presented by ART SG and UBS on Tigers and Art: The Economic and Social Demographics, and Buying Pattern Context of the Art and Luxury Market in Southeast Asia.
