Curated by Elisabeth Bettina Spörr

The exhibition where do we go from here? presents works by around thirty artists that can be seen as reactions to the processes of political, social, and economic transformation taking place in central Europe over recent years.

The title also refers to the specific demands made on young artists by today’s art world—such as unrestricted mobility, flexibility, permanent innovation. In metaphorical terms, it raises the general question of feature developments within society and the function of art. where do we go from here? is the latest in the “Junge Szene” series, running since the early 1980s, in which the Secession focuses on emerging trends in art.

The program of events accompanying the exhibition will be published separately. For further information, please visit: www.secession.at
