A special appreciation to the visiting artists scholars, and special guests who joined us during the fully-remote fall 2020 semester.
The Graduate Studies faculty, students, and staff at the Maryland Institute College of Art would like to extend a very special thank you to the 250+ visiting artists, scholars, and special guests who joined us in our virtual studios and classrooms during the fully-remote fall 2020 semester. Our guests’ openness and resilience modeled ways to be creative despite enormous constraints. Our community of MA & MFA programs is a permeable one, strengthened and nourished by the relationships that connect MICA to the rest of Baltimore and the world; we appreciated the opportunity to engage with such a diverse array of thought leaders and makers to consider together what it means to undertake creative work in these challenging times. While space here does not permit us to name every individual who joined us, we offer the following list as representative of all those to whom we wish to express our gratitude.
Mikea Hugley, Maria Gabriela Hernandez, Ann Xu, Alison Saar, Ami Kantawala, Carlo Stanga, Aurora Colón, Kemi Adeyemi, Julia Marshall, Nicoletta de la Brown, Laylah Amatullah Barrayn, Divya Viswanathan, Lowery Sims, Nina Crews, Amir Khadar, Roberto Lugo, Denise Shanté Brown, Grace Gipson, Osmond Tshuma, Nikiea Redmond, Jessica Bell Brown
