Online Exhibition
October 15, 2020–January 15, 2021
#WIP: Work in Progress/Working Process features 37 artists selected by 6 curators, presenting finished artworks side by side with the various stages of their creation, as well as live streamed performances and scheduled screenings.
#WIP: Work in Progress/Working Process focuses on the incomplete and the ongoing, not the finished and the polished; the trial, the error and the endless rehearsal, not the perfected work of art that hides all the traces of its creation and renders invisible the messy process behind it, which is retrospectively called progress. #WIP: Work in Progress/Working Process, is interested in the erasures and hesitations, the stumblings and dead ends, the starting over and over again, as well as the abandoned or forgotten attempts, in short, the entire journey of the creative process, which is an inspiration in itself.
#WIP: Work in Progress/Working Process brings an experimental new design to online exhibiting that is easy to navigate but non-linear, that does not overwhelm the artwork, but is not a mere list to scroll down either, it does not use three dimensional modelling to create the impression of a real space, but instead, uses the unique abilities of the online realm to click and connect. As such it affords a unique, user-friendly experience to the visitor.
