November 5, 2020–January 9, 2021
Artissima announces that the cross-media interactive platform Artissima XYZ and the online catalogue 2020 have been extended and will be available until January 9, 2021.
Artissima XYZ
Artissima XYZ gives an all-round experience of the three curated sections of the fair—Present Future, Back to the Future and Disegni—transforming them into a truly immersive digital experience.
Videos, photographs, podcasts, interviews, and critical readings have been created for this multimedia journey by the 30 galleries participating—ten in each section—and by the 30 artists invited. Fresh experiential content to deeply explore the work of all the main figures involved: galleries, artists, curators.
Back to the Future, curated by Lorenzo Giusti and Mouna Mekouar, features works created between 1960 and 1999 by the great pioneers of contemporary art. Present Future, selected by Ilaria Gianni and Fernanda Brenner is devoted to emerging talents under 40. The Disegni section, under the oversight of Letizia Ragaglia and Bettina Steinbrügge, is devoted to the particular aspects of this form of expression.
Online catalogue
With an array of new features, Artissima’s digital catalogue features the works of the iconic Main Section, Dialogue/Monologue, New Entries and Art Spaces & Editions, giving the public an intuitive, interactive insight into what visitors would have been able to admire in the booths of Artissima 2020. Furthermore, while awaiting for museums to reopen, it ables to preview the artworks of Frenetic Standstill, the three exhibitions curated by Ilaria Bonacossa in deep dialogue with the galleries involved in the stunning venues of Fondazione Torino Musei: the Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, Palazzo Madama - Museo Civico d’Arte Antica, and the MAO - Museo d’Arte Orientale.
Latest online projects
The latest special projects of online exploration include the 3D virtual tours, the Digital Walkie Talkies, and the online platform to discover the exhibition FOLLE.
The virtual tours of Frenetic Standstill, produced in collaboration with Artland, make it possible to visit the three locations of the exhibition (GAM, Palazzo Madama and MAO) thanks to sophisticated 3D virtual reality technology, an intuitive platform, easy to use, with the possibility linking to in-depth commentaries in Italian and English for all of the 158 works on view.
The Digital Walkie Talkies, on the social networks and YouTube channel of the fair, present intriguing videos that allow to discover some of the works displayed at GAM, Palazzo Madama and MAO, seen through the eyes of four young curators – Bernardo Follini, Samuele Piazza, Ramona Ponzini and Elisa Troiano—in dialogue with Ilaria Bonacossa, director of Artissima.
FOLLE (CROWDS), on a special online platform, rediscovers the Archivio Publifoto Intesa Sanpaolo, presenting 26 photographs taken from 1930 to 1980. The images capture various moments of social gathering, narrating the historical and political transformations of the country. Through a simple, intuitive interface in its form and access, a large virtual wall displays the works selected by Ilaria Bonacossa and Barbara Costa, director of the historical archives of Intesa Sanpaolo. Each photograph is accompanied by comments on the socio-political context in which it was made.
Don’t miss the chance to experience and fully enjoy Artissima 2020 even at a distance!
