at the Hab Galerie – Hangar à Bananes, Nantes
Jean-Michel Sanejouand’s work has been acclaimed by large institutions in France and abroad, including the Centre Georges Pompidou in 1995.
In 2012, the Frac will devote to this major artist its largest-ever exhibition held to date.
Exhibitions at the Frac and at the Hab Galerie
Organised as a circuit, each of the two exhibitions developed by the Frac des Pays de la Loire in conjunction with the artist retraces in its own specific way an artistic quest nurtured and developed over almost fifty years.
At the Frac, the focus is on the object, spatial organisation and the “Calligraphies d’humeur”. The legendary “Charges-Objets” of the 1960s are rearranged according to the artist’s road-show project “Les routes-expositions”. Also on display is a set of sixty original drawings.
The Hab Galerie plays host to a monumental unfurling of his sculptural work, particularly with his “Assemblages de pierres” presented alongside the “Sculptures-Peintures”.
These exhibitions bring together a vast body of work from one of today’s greatest French artists, offering everyone the opportunity to discover an exceptional journey of artistic endeavour undertaken by Jean-Michel Sanejouand since the late 1950s.
