Victor Brauner, Je suis le rêve. Je suis l’inspiration.
For its exhibition dedicated to that singular Surrealist Victor Brauner (1903– 1966), the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris is publishing a monograph containing over a hundred paintings and drawings, some of them on show for the first time since the last Paris retrospective, at the Musée National d’Art Moderne in 1972. The presentation sequence runs as follows: Beginnings in Romania (1920–1925); Paris and the shock of Surrealism (1925–1932); The Surrealist adventure (1933– 1939); The “black frontiers” of the war (1939–1945); The Conglomeros (1941-1945); After the War (1946–1948); Beyond Surrealism (1949–1966).

Sarah Moon, PastPresent
The Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris is presenting the exhibition PastPresent, devoted to the work of Sarah Moon. Active in France and abroad since the late 1960s, she is recognised as a great fashion photographer; but she is far from limited to this single field, and the aim of this exhibition is to reveal the singularity of a photographic and cinematic oeuvre fluctuating between reflections and transparency, mirages and obscurity.

Hubert Duprat
Presented by the Musée d’Art Moderne de Paris, this is Hubert Duprat’s first major retrospective in France. Drawing on various photographic and sculptural ensembles and the reactivation of site-specific works, the exhibition retraces the career of this French artist who was born in 1957 and for over 30 years has been honing his practice like a researcher—one, as he himself puts it, more gifted for the hunt than for the capture.
