Join RIBA Curator Shumi Bose, Space Popular and Oliver Wainwright for a live discussion

The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in partnership with e-flux will launch its new virtual reality (VR) exhibition—FREESTYLE: Architectural Adventures in Mass Media, designed and built by Space Popular, with a live-streamed talk directly from social VR.
RIBA has commissioned Space Popular to create an installation in response to Sebastiano Serlio’s iconic treatise, Seven Books of Architecture. Drawing on RIBA’s world-class collections, Space Popular uses virtual reality to examine architecture styles of the past—from the Renaissance to postmodernism—while considering technology’s impact on contemporary buildings and spaces. Join RIBA Curator Shumi Bose and designers Lara Lesmes and Fredrik Hellberg of multidisciplinary design studio Space Popular, as they show you around the exhibition, followed by a short talk by Space Popular on the impact of new technologies and media on architectural style across 500 years. Joining them in VR for a conversation following the talk will be Oliver Wainwright, architecture and design critic at the Guardian.
