As of March 1, 2020, Katharina Hausladen has taken over the position as editor-in-chief of the art magazine TEXTE ZUR KUNST. She succeeds Colin Lang, who is leaving after two successful years in order to meet new professional challenges. Katharina Hausladen holds an MA in philosophy. Her dissertation at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna examined materialist criticism in relation to popcultural practices. She has worked as a lecturer in art theory and cultural studies at various universities, and she has written as a freelance critic for publications including the German popcultural magazine testcard, TEXTE ZUR KUNST, and others.
“We would like to thank Colin Lang for his time working with us. Not least, his work has shaped and cultivated the international quality of the journal,” says publisher Isabelle Graw. “With Katharina Hausladen, we are gaining a scholar of art and culture with deep knowledge and a strong engagement in current debates around art and art politics, as well as cultural theory. As editor-in-chief, Hausladen will continue TEXTE ZUR KUNST’s commitment to providing a forum that triggers debates, establishes themes, and examines the increasingly complex art-political issues of today at a high theoretical level.”
