miart – Milan’s international modern and contemporary art fair—is now inviting galleries from all over the world to apply to take part in its 25th edition. Through its five main sections—Established Contemporary, Established Masters, Generations, Decades, and Emergent—miart represents the most extensive chronological art exhibition in Italy, fostering dialogue between iconic artists and new talents and attracting world-class collectors, curators and professionals every year.
Under the artistic directorship of Nicola Ricciardi—who will run the next three editions of miart—the event continues to promote ties between art and design, bringing together an outstanding selection of works at the historic fieramilanocity exhibition district. Yet, this year, the physical event will also be supplemented by a brand-new digital platform designed to extend and enrich dialogue and relationships between galleries and collectors.
Taking its inspiration and title from the first full-length collection by the poet Charles Simic (b. 1938)—Dismantling the silence, published in 1971—the 25th edition of miart also aims to fill the cultural void caused by the pandemic by promoting the Milano Art Week, a substantial programme of exhibition openings and events planned in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan and the leading public and private institutions in and around the city.
Moreover, while reinforcing and implementing additional measures to provide a safe, caring and comfortable environment for all its visitors, miart is working to enhance its VIP program and ensure a special reception and a first-class experience to its prestigious invitees. During the week of the fair, VIP guests will engage with a network of international artists and connoisseurs, and enjoy access to exclusive tours and receptions at some of Milan’s most prestigious estates and collections.
Applications must be submitted online by Friday, November 27, 2020.
